The “Write” Method – Write Out Your Feelings

Writing out your feelings has therapeutic benefits:

  • It allows you to release the emotions and thoughts you’ve been holding on to.
  • It gives you the opportunity to put words to your emotions so that you can properly express yourself and get clear on what you’re feeling.

Sometimes writing out your feelings will allow you to see that the idea you have isn’t far-fetched like you first thought.  Or you’ll discover a fear that’s been bugging you is not as bad as it seems.

If you’ve experienced a loss, are going through a crisis or a struggle (professionally or personally), writing out your feelings is a great way to process and work through them to get through a challenging time.

You don’t have to be a scholar or a writing professional to do this. Don’t worry about correct grammar, spell checking, or content structure.

All you have to do is WRITE.

One of the benefits of therapy is being free to express yourself, to talk about what you’re going through. Coincidentally, writing does the same thing.

DisclaimerWriting shouldn’t be a substitute for professional therapy or counseling if you need it.

However, writing is a great tool you have immediate access to that’s sure to supply the relief you need.

Whatever feelings you’re holding inside, the best way to get it out is to WRITE IT OUT.
